Kuppa Roastery and Cafe, Bacolod's coffee darling, is one of the best specialty coffee shops in Bonifacio Global City - known for quality coffee and delicious food. Kuppa, established in 2006, is the pioneer of the Philippine specialty coffee movement. All their coffee are considered artisan roasts and part-owner Karen Lo-Tsai, one of the Philippine's few Q Graders (coffee sommelier), makes sure only the best quality coffee is served.
It's rare to find a specialty coffee shop in Metro Manila with both excellent coffee and food - Kuppa has both.
Ben's Cappucino (Php80) |
The cafe also has a number of hand-brew options for brewed coffee. The brewing methods available are the Aeropress, Hario V60, and the French Press. I'd recommend the coffee brewed using either an Aeropress or the V60. They have a wonderful El Salvador Estate single origin with chocolate and caramel notes, or you can get the Ethiopia Konga if you prefer more berry-like flavors in your cup.
One of their bestsellers is the Iced Nutcracker Latte but I'm not a fan.
Barista's Secret (Php135) |
If you prefer cream-based drinks then grab a Barista's Secret. I'm not exactly sure what the ingredients are (it's a secret, duh), but I'm sure it's loaded with vanilla and cream. It tastes a bit like a vanilla ice cream milkshake which makes it decadent and delicious.
Prosciutto Cotto e Funghi (Php290) |
For the main course, get the Sauteed Salmon and Steak Ala Kuppa. You won't regret it. The mains are also the most expensive dishes served and the area where Kuppa becomes less affordable. In my opinion the mains were tasty, but nothing spectacular.
Kuppa has very relaxing atmosphere which is great for hanging out with friends or dates. The restaurant is designed beautifully, making it a nice place to have a cup of coffee paired with a nice pastry. The service was good as the waiters were quite friendly.
