About

Hey there foodie! You can call me Jay and I'm the guy behind Chef Jay's Kitchen (duh!). First of all, I would like to say that I am not a chef by profession. I don't have a restaurant or any fancy culinary degree - but I do love food. My passion for food is why this blog came to be.

What's in Chef Jay's Kitchen

Back in 2014, I started Chef Jay's Kitchen in hopes of creating a different kind of food blog. I didn't want to review just any restaurant, but I wanted to carefully curate some pretty amazing restaurants that I am confident you'd enjoy. If you want to know what I think about other restaurants I've visited, I hope you follow me on Zomato instead.

I cook quite a bit and this blog is an avenue for me to share some recipes that I enjoy at home. I love to experiment with whatever I cook, so don't be surprised if the recipes also change over time. I also have a price watch of ingredients which I update regularly.

You can also visit my blog to see a number of kitchen tips. We all need to start somewhere, and I want to impart whatever knowledge I have about food so that you can become a better home cook yourself. I'm also a bit passionate about nutrition, so I'm going to share health tips here and there.

I'm happy to say that our efforts to create a food blog that you can love and trust has paid off and we have been recognized as one of the Top 10 Emerging Influential Bloggers in the Philippines in 2015. I know that we can still improve on a number of areas and we do this mainly because of our love for food, but thank you for the recognition.

Thank You for Voting Chef Jay's Kitchen as #2 in the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs of 2015

So, who's Jay?

Well, I'm a guy in my 20s working in the Financial industry. I was fortunate enough to graduate from one of the top universities in the Philippines because of the unwavering support of my dear family. I discovered my love for food when I started cooking my own meals at home and experimenting with ingredients. I also love to write, although I don't think I'm going to achieve success in life if I made a career out of it so I guess blogging is a nice compromise.

If you're a regular reader of my blog or facebook page, it's safe to assume that you already know about my love for coffee. Yes, I am extremely passionate about specialty coffee and I believe in the untapped potential of Philippine Arabica. One of my goals in life is to open an ice cream and coffee shop so don't be surprised if I write about it often. I hope you follow me on my food and coffee adventures. I promise I'll try not to bore you to death.

Well, I hope you enjoy reading my blog. If the site amuses you, then please share it with friends.

Cheers,
Chef Jay
