Around early this year, a new trend began to emerge. Coffee-lovers from all over the Metro started to hang out in small, boutique coffee shops that had excellent ambiance and far more delicious coffee than our usual Starbucks Coffee or The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. These are coffee shops and baristas that were just crazy about taste, flavor, and perfection in every cup. Alas, Third Wave Coffee caught fire and is now one of the hottest trends in Metro Manila today.
People have been trying to find these hidden gems for quite some time now, so I figured to help out by creating a map on where to find these cafes in both Makati and Taguig, where most of the these specialty coffee shops are located. Well without further ado, here's a map of Third Wave Coffee Shops in Bonifacio Global City:
Starbucks Reserve coffee is the company's response to the fast-growing trend of third wave coffee shops. The coffee tastes great and is better than their regular brew but I still don't think it's at the same level as the other specialty cafes in Manila.

Luna Specialty Coffee brought the Luna Blend and a delicious Barako coffee blend to BGC. This is a cafe that focuses on serving quality Filipino flavors. Other than delicious coffee, they also put a twist on classic Filipino favorites such as the Pan de Sal and made shots out of Kakanin. Pretty creative!

Kuppa Roastery and Cafe is a BGC darling because it serves top quality coffee and food, coupled with terrific ambiance. They have a great array of delicious coffee blends and, if you want a caffeine-free drink then you might want to try their Barista's Secret (what's in it is a secret). Certainly one of my favorite cafes!

Toby's Estate
Toby's Estate is, in my opinion, one of the best coffee shops in Manila today. They serve top quality coffee and delicious pastries that complements each other quitewell. They have a beautiful store in Salcedo Village, Makati, but they also recently opened a kiosk in BGC for Toby's Estate fanatics working in the area. Lucky for us!

Just like Starbucks Reserve, Mentore Coffee + Bar is UCC's response to the Third Wave, by serving only high-quality coffee brewed from only the finest beans. They also have a great selection of quality food that you can enjoy.
