Your Local: A Hipster Asian Fusion Restaurant That Will Make Your Tastebuds Extremely Happy

Your Local is an upscale Asian Fusion Restaurant that has been trending on foodie and instagram circles for quite some time now. The restaurant is the brainchild of Chef Denny Antonio and Nicco Santos and the food served largely reflects their love of food from different parts of Asia - developing a cult following in the process due to their delicious, instagram-worthy entrees. They nailed the flavor combinations so much that your palate will surely be blown away no matter what you order.

I've been to Your Local quite a number of times now and here's my take on some of their yummy creations.

Your Local - Torched Salmon Donburi
Torched Salmon Donburi (Php 540)
The Torched Salmon Donburi is probably the most-craved restaurant entree in the Philippines today. The salmon is torched, which leaves you with delicious partially cooked Norwegian salmon on one side and fresh salmon sashimi on the other. This entree is simply bursting with flavor!

The dish is served with mentaiko, oboro, ebiko and salmon skin on roast corn. The shitake black rice underneath is the perfect complement to such a tasty dish. This is the one Your Local dish YOU MUST TRY.

People love it so much that the guys at Pepper.ph actually hacked the Torched Salmon Donburi recipe.

Your Local - Chorizo Sandich
Chorizo Sandwich (Php 490)
The Chorizo Sandwich is another Your Local favorite! Imagine a 1/3rd Pound burnt onion and chorizo patty, smeared with pepperconcini cream cheese, fried egg, seasonal greens on a squid ink bun served with parmesan fries and truffled ketchup. Man, that's a lot of flavor in one burger.

I personally liked the level of spice that you get in each bite, I felt that it had a nice kick to it. It's also very soft and juicy and that's always something you look for in a quality burger!

Your Local - Lamb Rendang
Lamb Rendang (Php 530)
The Lamb Rending is another one of their spiced up bestsellers. The lamb is served with sous vide organic egg, sweet soy, mint, and cilantro with red raisin black rice. I really thought the lamb itself was quite good - it was very soft and juicy - but it's not one of my favorite dishes. I didn't find it as spectacular as the previous two. If you're looking for something spicy (but not too much), then you might want to grab this.

My favorite part of the meal was the red raisin black rice, as the red raisins kept exploding in my mouth- it's like a juice ball blowing up in your palate in each bite.

Your Local - Tofu Steak and Eggs
Tofu Steak and Eggs (Php 370)
The Tofu Steak and Eggs is pan seared tofu, fried eggs, shitake mushroom with roast corn served with shitake black rice. It find that it complements very well with the other dishes that are bursting with flavor since tofu isn't inherently full of flavor. I wouldn't get it as a standalone dish though.

Rating: 3.5/5.0

I find that for all entrees, the rice helps bring out the unique flavors in each dish and provides a contrast of color to make each ingredient in the plate stand out (and thus instagram-worthy). Each dish had very generous portions and I think an entree is good enough for 2 people. I recommend you share their bestselling entrees so that you can have a taste of each one.

Sea Salt Lemonade (Php 160)
The dishes are best paired with some Sea Salt Lemonade (Php 160) or maybe a glass of iced coffee from Yardstick next door.

The service and ambiance were both amazing. The waiters were really friendly and patient. They were also quite attentive. No issues with the service and I hope they keep it up.

The ambiance was very american. It had a nice feel to it - very hip and posh. The music was a bit loud, but it does bring out a lively atmosphere. The Your Local experience felt like you were out of the Philippines, and in a hip New York City pub.

The place is perfect for: cheat day, intimate celebrations, romantic dates.
