The World Food Expo (WOFEX) is known as the food and beverage industry's main avenue that allows Philippine food businesses to interact with key suppliers. Over the years, WOFEX has been known to be THE PLACE where you can meet key suppliers - ones that can take your business to the next level.
While the SMX convention center showcases brands that are normally used in your home kitchen, the World Trade Center gathers key suppliers for commercial kitchen equipment and food suppliers.
WOFEX this 2015 will be held from 10:00am to 7:00pm on August 5 – 8, 2015 at both World Trade Center and SMX Convention Center. Only the SMX Convention Center is open to the general public from August 5-7 and the World Trade Center will only admit trade partners (particularly decision makers of food and beverage businesses). The World Trade Center will then be open for everyone on August 8. There will be a free shuttle that can bring you to either venue if you want to visit both.
Here are pictures of what you can find in the WOFEX 2015, World Trade Center;

Since it's the only day that the World Trade Center will be open to the general public, expect it to be packed. The entrance fee is Php200. Be prepared for free taste samples and you can buy equipment at a steep discount. That's worth the entrance fee.
You can also head over to SMX Convention Center for great kitchen finds for the home.

It doesn't look crowded. Maybe the expo is not well advertised. It's a great missed for restaurant owners.
ReplyDeleteWell, one reason was I tried to avoid taking pictures of people to respect their privacy. But the World Trade Center wasn't as crowded as the SMX Convention center because only food business owners were allowed to go it! I also went on a weekday.
DeleteA lot of restaurant owners were there. so it wasn't a missed opportunity at all. Thanks for dropping by!
Ah, I see. Okay :)
DeleteI have always wanted to attend the World Food Expo, but never really had the chance. They say it's a great event to discover new food products. As a foodie I know that this would have been candy land for me.
ReplyDeleteDid you happen to see any organic meat suppliers? Anyone selling lamb or duck???
Hey Anne,
DeleteLet me check on my stock of brochures! I'll try to get back to you by the weekend, I'm currently packed with work from my day-job so I can't go over it this week!
Cheers,
Jay

DeleteGoing to fairs/expos such as WOFEX is something I really miss in Manila. I would love to check the suppliers for party supplies and baking.

DeleteFood expos should be in my list. I haven't been to one yet. And I reckon 200pesos for the entrance was alright.
ReplyDeleteHey Chel, it really is a steal given all the discounts and freebies you will be getting. Food Expos are a really great experience overall!
