Hello Food-Loving World!

Chef Jay's Kitchen
Hello Everyone,

Chef Jay here. Welcome to Chef Jay's Kitchen!

To be honest, I am not a 'chef' by any means. I don't own a restaurant or have a fancy degree in culinary arts. I'm not entirely new at cooking and I am hoping to get really good at it over time. You see, food is my passion. I started this blog to share my adventures with food- from great restaurants to delicious recipes - with anyone who would bother to read it. Yeah, that's you. Thank you for dropping by!

I plan to make this website a bit different from other food blogs out there. You see I live in the Philippines and we Filipinos absolutely LOVE to eat (I mean who doesn't?). I visit Filipino food blogs quite often and I find that they usually are usually centered on restaurant reviews. Now, there's nothing wrong with that (I write my own restaurant reviews as well) but there are a lot more topics out there to write about, including:

1. Recipes and Recipe Reviews - I'm here to share recipes that I love, particularly really good ones I also cook for my own family and friends. You'll probably see me start with relatively easy recipes since I would call myself an amateur cook. The good thing about that is, if I can do it then so can you! As an added benefit, I also plan to include the cost of each dish per serving to help similar budget-conscious millennials like myself in the kitchen.

2. Price Watch - I will also be doing a survey on the prices of regular kitchen ingredients in the site. I will update the prices every two months. Since I'm based in the Philippines, it'll only be useful if you live here as well. I wanted to add this concept so that you would have an idea how much each meal would cost.

3. Restaurant and Product Reviews - A food blog won't be complete without restaurant and product reviews. I'll try to review and recommend great restaurants or products for all of you. Don't worry, I'll keep my personal biases to a minimum.

4. Kitchen Tips - I hoping to share some useful tips and tricks in the kitchen as well. These would include tips on the right equipment and ingredients for each dish to help beginner cooks out there. I also want to share some tips on nutrition, and the science behind cooking.

I'll try to think of new sections to add to this blog in the future. I am very excited to go on this journey with you. Till next time!

Cheers,
Chef Jay
