Cafe Mary Grace: A Cafe That Feels Like Your Second Home

Cafe Mary Grace wants to bring the goodness of home in each of their stores. From their beautifully designed interiors, freshly-baked pastries, tasty beverages, and quality home-style food you'll find many reasons to keep on coming back. Cafe Mary Grace takes good care of their customers, which is why the cafe feels like a second home to many of her loyal patrons.

As part of our SM Southmall food crawl, we visited Cafe Mary Grace at the Food Street. Here's what we had.

The SM Southmall store looks like a fairy tale, with beautiful decors sprawled across the walls, colorful chandeliers above, and antique tables and chairs. The place feels like a scene from Narnia rather than in the busy streets of Metro Manila.

This store, hand down, is probably the most beautiful Cafe Mary Grace store around!

The Shrimp Salad on Batard Bread (Php 285) is a sandwich filled with pan seared prawns, bell peppers, and lettuce. It makes for a nice afternoon snack and it was good enough for 2 to share. Cafe Mary Grace didn't scrimp on shrimps here, as the sandwich was just full of them. The chips and the garlic mayonnaise complements the sandwich quite well.

The sandwich had a very strong bell pepper and mayonaisse flavor. I would have preferred both to be a bit more mild, so that I can really taste the pan-seared prawns in each bite. Otherwise, a solid dish.

The Pasta Amatriciana with Italian Meatballs (Php 260) consists of spaghetti tossed in thick tomato sauce and topped with bacon and chilis. The pasta was perfectly al-dente and it had a light tomato flavor. The meatballs were cooked to perfection and was really flavored nicely.

If it was up to me, I would probably add a bit more salt, pepper, and chili flakes to the pasta for added flavor and a slight kick of heat to make the flavors a bit more interesting. It's a good dish, but falls short on being spectacular.

The Mushroom & Garlic Pizza (Php 498) was one of the best things we've had in the entire food crawl and is a must-try Cafe Mary Grace pizza. The balance of flavors were just right, with each bite - full of mushroom, garlic, and cheese flavors -  more satisfying than the last. When the pizza was served, the smell of truffles draws you in right away. Once it was all finished, you would find yourself craving for another round!

Such a splendid pizza and I'm sure you'll love this as much as I do!

The Blackberry Fresh Fruit Milkshake (Php 158) is a gift from the heavens. It's easily one of the best smoothies I've tasted in my life. It's was fruity good with delicious blueberries and I liked that it had the perfect amount of sweetness, which is not much at all.

Don't get me started on Mary Grace's famous Ensaymadas (Php 80). They're freshly baked daily and are fluffy to perfection. Each ensaymada is immensely addicting, which I think is because of the queso de bola goodness on top. These delicacies are just perfect when paired with a cup of Mary Grace hot chocolate or coffee

Cafe Mary Grace is truly a home away from home, starting with the amazing service, the beauty of its fairytale-like decors, and all the way to the home-style quality of the food it offers. The cafe is a well-loved  in Metro Manila's busy food scene, and will remain so in the foreseeable future.
