If you're looking for a new and tasty companion for the holiday season, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Philippines recently released a new decadent drink - The Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle Ice Blended and Latte. On paper, the combination of Chocolate + Hazelnut + Truffle just seems so heavenly!
It has been a while since CBTL Philippines released a new drink. While I love their regular coffee menu, a lot of their new drink releases have not had much staying power over the years.
A couple of friends tried the Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle Ice Blended Beverage earlier today and they didn't like it. They still prefer either the Ultimate Vanilla Ice Blended or White Chocolate Dream Latte.
To give everyone an update, I have tried the Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle Latte and I think it's pretty solid. It's not a spectacular new beverage, but it's better than the alternative - a Mocha. Sadly, CBTL Philippines still has a supply chain problem stemming from the port congestion so they currently don't have a lot of their Espresso-based beverages and tea latte.
I don't think the Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle is here to stay. I probably won't order this again because there are other, better options. I just hope the White Chocolate Dream latte will be available again soon.
One thing you need to know is that the ice blended version is milk-based, so it doesn't have any coffee, while the latte does have caffeine. Pretty weird, right?
