From Around the Web: Our Favorite Articles for November

I'm really sorry for such a late post. When I started Chef Jay's Kitchen, I promised you that I'm going to share the top 5 food articles I've come across each month, and I am way behind schedule. It's been a busy couple of weeks for me, but I understand that shouldn't be an excuse. I know it's late but here are the top food articles for November! Once again, thank you for your patience.

Top 5 Articles of the Month:
  1. How to Maximize Flavor and Create Delicious Meals, Every Time - In the fight against bland and tasteless meals, Cooksmarts.com released their Cooks Smarts 101 Series to help educate home cooks on, and I quote "how to turn a meal from ‘meh’ to ‘hot dang!'". This is a lesson in food and flavor that you shouldn't miss so that you won't ever have to eat a bland meal again!
  2. Around the World in Coffee - Did you know that the Vietnamese take their coffee with condensed milk? Did you know that people in Finland put cheese in their coffee? Well, I didn't know until I read this article from The Fat Kid Inside on how people around the world experience coffee. Learn how different cultures from around the world drink their morning cup of coffee and try it out yourself!
  3. 7 Essential Filipino Cookbooks - Filipino food is amazing! I think Filipino cuisine is so full of flavor and umami-goodness that I'm sad with the fact that it's not shared with other people from around the world as much as other cuisines. Well, I hope you can learn how to cook delicious Filipino food from these essential cookbooks, a guide from pepper.ph!
  4. A Guide on The Best of Hole in the Wall - I recently wrote an article about Hole in The Wall, a new up-scale 'food gathering experience' in town located at the Century City Mall. It's the first of its kind in the Philippines. The stalls that were open were just dessert stores at the time, but now that all the stalls are finally up and running here's a guide on the best of what you can find there!
  5. Taste Series: David Ong of Edsa BDG and The Curator - In this article, Daving Ong shares with us his definition of taste. He also shares the inspiration behind The Curator and Edsa BDG - two artisinal coffee shops located in Metro Manila that serves specialty hand-crafted coffee. He also talks about the evolution of the Filipino palate, and how everyone deserves to experience specialty coffee.
I hope you find these articles interesting, and have a pleasant weekend!
