Applebee's Grill & Bar: There's Always A Reason To Celebrate

Applebee's, the American Grill & Bar franchise, finally opened their second Philippine branch last July 2016 at Eastwood City - a welcome addition to the amazing selection of restaurants located along Eastwood Avenue. It's sister company, IHOP, is currently still under construction but will soon be available to hordes of pancake lovers that frequent Eastwood.

The restaurant is all about celebration since Applebee's runs on the belief that 'There's always a reason to celebrate' with delicious comfort food - may it be a good test scores at school or successful projects at the office. Of course, there are also countless birthdays, anniversaries, and promotions to celebrate, but they're really champions of celebrating both the little things and big life events.

Applebee's American comfort food concept consisting of ribs, burgers, tacos, tenders, and mac and cheese really makes eating at Applebee's a celebration in itself - a feast for anyone who loves to eat their heart out.

One big tip I can give you is that if you book through BigDish, you can get up to 30% off your meal through their very convenient restaurant reservation system. To learn more about Bigdish, check out this link.

Here's what makes dining at Applebee's a little special, and should be reason enough to take your next celebration to their newly opened Eastwood Avenue store...

The restaurant's interiors certainly has a New York pub feel that complements pretty well with their selection of American comfort food. I can see myself merrily attacking a whole rack of ribs in this atmosphere with a large mug of beer seated at one of Applebee's comfortable booths.

Speaking of booths, Applebee's has quite a few booths that eerily remind me of "How I Met Your Mother" - arguably one of the best TV shows of our generation. Imagine yourself getting together with the gang celebrating all the little wins in life (and drowning out the sorrows as well) at one of Applebee's many booths, similar to how Ted and the gang would do so in Maclaren's  Pub during every HIMYM episode. Ahh, memories...

The Wonton Taco (Php 225) is an Applebee's favorite due to it's Mexican flavors of fresh cilantro and cole slaw that pairs nicely with the spicy chicken stuffing. The zest of lime from the side adds another nice zing of acidity that makes this one flavor packed dish. There's never been a time where we ate at Applebee's and didn't order this tasty appetizer.

The Quesadilla Burger (Php 525) might not be the most appetizing-looking dish of the bunch but this unique, Mexican-inspired marriage between a quesadilla and a burger is one dish you should try if you're into Mexican food and American burgers. I'd like to think of it as an extra large quesadilla that's stuffed with a huge, juicy burger patty, pico de gallo and shredded lettuce with melted Jack and Cheddar served with Applebee's signature Mexi-ranch sauce.

In short, it's a huge quesadilla that you can enjoy as a burger. If you think the traditional quesadilla is just too small that you're still craving for more, then have a Quesadilla Burger from Applebee's. Problem solved.

The Fiesta Lime Chicken (Php 395) is another fan-favorite with grilled chicken done fiesta style with the zesty puch of lime topped with melted Jack-cheddar goodness. It's very refreshing and indulgent at the same time (gotta thank the lime and cheese for that) and the crisp tortilla chips on top add a nice crunch to the dish. I can't even stop myself from finishing up the entire dish as it's just perfect with the spiced up mexi-rice and freshly-made pico de gallo.

The Fiesta Lime Chicken is highly recommended for all you chicken lovers!

The Pork Ribs (Half - Php 650, Full - Php 950) is my favorite Applebee's dish and the restaurant takes so much pride in both the quality and effort put into making these ribs just perfect. They ship these in the Philippines from the US just to make sure that the quality is the same no matter where you enjoy it. These barbeque pork ribs are marinated in Applebee's special house blend and is grilled to juicy perfection. You can enjoy it with your choice of sauce (Sweet Asian Chili, Korean Barbeque, Honey Barbeque, and Smoky Chipotle) and is served with grilled cob, french fries and coleslaw.

Personally, I liked the spicy kick of the Korean Barbecue sauce or the classic american flavors coming from the Honey Barbecue. We all loved these ribs so much that we wiped the bones clean!

There are a lot of special moments in life that should be celebrated - both huge, life-changing events or the little wins. Applebee's Grill & Bar is a great place as any to do just that. Remember how Ted and the gang would always celebrate each moment, big or small, at Maclaren's?

Applebee's can be your Maclaren's. If you live or work nearby, it can be a weekly get-together with the gang at your favorite booth... because there's always a reason to celebrate.

Don't forget to book your next Applebee's trip through Bigdish to get at least 10% of your dish, it's FREE.
