Fat Daddy's Smokehouse: Smoked Barbecue Goodness in BGC

Fat Daddy's Smokehouse's popularity began as soon as they opened their doors in Marikina last year offering affordable smoked goodness that was obviously worth more (because they tasted amazing) than what the restaurant charged. You can get a half rack of barbecued ribs for just... Php 280. Now that's what I call a good deal!

People became excited once they heard that Fat Daddy's Smokehouse was opening a store in BGC, but when they finally did open in Burgos Circle, Bonifacio Global City earlier this year a lot of people were disappointed to know they couldn't enjoy the same affordable prices they can get in Marikina. In fact, they doubled the prices of almost all dishes! Don't get me wrong they still serve really good meat that's smoked for hours, but Fat Daddy's is not  the value-for-money option that people were expecting.

Here are my thoughts on Fat Daddy's Smokehouse in BGC...

The restaurant only has chairs upstairs with beautiful wooden tables and chairs. It seems like the perfect setting to chow down on a rack of ribs or a smoked beef brisket.

I had the Smoked Chicken BBQ (Php 330) that comes with 2 sides. I chose to have my chicken with a serving of Texas Dirty Rice and Cheddar Mashed Potatoes. I really liked the chicken because it tasted like ribs because of the sauce. I loved the smokey flavor it had and it wasn't dry inside. Definitely a must try!

Both the Texas Dirty Rice and the Cheddar Mashed Potatoes paired really well with anything smoked. I just hope they fixed their mashed potatoes so that it's more creamy and a little less dry.

I do not suggest you get the Smoked Hot Links (Php 250) because it was so dry that it's almost inedible. I like sausages to be moist inside and that just fills your mouth with flavor. This doesn't do it for me. Instead. I suggest you get the North Carolina Pulled Pork (Php 220) or the Smoked Pulled Pork (Php 250) since both were pretty good and they're relatively affordable. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a photo of either one.

I also don't suggest you get the Cranberry Macaroni Salad as a side dish because the macaroni tasted raw to me. We didn't finish the macaroni because it just seemed too under cooked.

Food Quality: 3.5
Service Quality: 3.0
Ambiance: 3.5

Overall Quality: 3.5

Let's get one thing straight, Fat Daddy's Smokehouse in BGC isn't cheap. When you compare their prices to other ribhouses in the vicinity it's true that they're still relatively affordable. It's just that they didn't have the magic they had in Marikina where you're sure your meal was 'sulit'. I really recommend the Smoked Chicken BBQ and the Pulled Pork.

I can't wait to try their Beef Brisket and Smoked Pork Ribs next time I'm around BGC. I didn't bring enough cash with me the last time!
