Starbucks Philippines is Going Candy Confections with Raspberry Truffle Mocha and Chestnut Praline Latte

Starbucks Philippines Raspberry Truffle Mocha and Chestnut Praline Latte

Starbucks Philippines is on a roll with new, innovative flavors. Last November, they released their 2014 Christmas flavors and introduced the Christmas Cookie Latte. Just two months before that, they also featured two new flavors: the French Vanilla Latte and Dark Caramel Latte. Starbucks is keeping us coffee aficionados on our toes with these product launches. Now, they're bringing us candy confection-inspired beverages with the Raspberry Truffle Mocha and Chestnut Praline Latte, released last January 9, 2015.

Will they continue the trend and release new beverages every two months? If that's the case, I might be coming back to Starbucks a bit more often this year. Looking at the picture above, these drinks look very tasty.

I had the opportunity to try the Raspberry Truffle Mocha Frappucino and Chestnut Praline Latte earlier today.

Raspberry Truffle Mocha (Tall - ₱150, Grande- ₱165, Venti - ₱175)

Luscious raspberry flavor paired with our signature mocha, topped with raspberry whipped cream and drizzled with espresso truffle sauce.

The Raspberry Truffle Mocha Frappucino was 'berry good'! From the first sip, you can really taste the raspberry flavor throughout the drink and the hint of truffle in there gives it the perfect kick. If you're looking for the perfect fruity companion, then I suggest you get this drink.

Rating: 4/5 Stars!

Chestnut Praline Latte (Tall - ₱150, Grande- ₱165, Venti - ₱175)

Our signature espresso with the rich flavor of roasted chestnuts and freshly steamed milk.

I was disappointed with the Chestnut Praline Latte. I was very excited to try this out. Unfortunately, I find that it tastes very similar to the Christmas Cookie Latte or Toffee Nut Latte, so if you aren't a fan of these two then I'm sure you won't love this drink.

I'll try it out in Frappucino form the next time I order from Starbucks because the flavors might be more distinct. But for now, I really won't recommend this drink. Don't get me wrong, it tastes good. However, it's flavor profile does not stand out as it isn't as innovative as the Raspberry Truffle Mocha.

Rating: 3.5/5 Stars!

If you get purchase either drink from January 9, 2015 - January 15, 2015 then you get the complimentary coaster shown below. Unfortunately, the coaster can only be availed if you buy the drink. If you use the beverage stars from your Starbucks card to try out the drinks, you won't get the coaster.

That's all for now. Share this review of the two new Starbucks beverages with your friends! Click on the buttons on the left to do that. Enjoy the drinks!

PS: They have extended their Starbucks Planner Promotion to January 24, 2015 for those asking.
